What we bought, spent and ate this week

Hello Dear Reader,

An overcast morning has greeted me this morning, so it much cooler with the promise of a little rain, that would just be lovely, I wouldn't have to stand out there for a couple of hours watering the garden this afternoon. It may burn off though, I can see a bit of blue sky trying to peek through.

I was so hoping for a cooler start to Autumn, that is why I had a couple of soups on the menu this week, but it was another hot week, the soups were still good though. Here's what else I made this week-

What we bought
Aldi shopping

Northside Discount Fruit Barn and two items from Coles

What we spent
Aldi-$87.81
Coles-$4.75
Northside Discount Fruit Barn-$40.90

TOTAL-$133.46, another week of being under budget, YES!!

What we ate
Friday-Leftover Cheesy Chicken, Quinoa and Black Bean Bake

Saturday and Sunday-Veggie Shepherds Pie

Monday-Tempura Whiting, steamed Basmati rice and Pak Choy

Tuesday-Thai Inspired Pumpkin Soup with Coriander, Mint and Roasted Cashew Pesto

Wednesday-Honey Prawns, steamed Basmati rice and a combination of Bok Choy and Broccoli

Thursday-Thai Peanut Soup with Sweet Potato and Spinach, holy cow, this is a fantastic recipe, I will share it next week.

So, that was what was on our family table this week, over to you, what kind of meals are you eating at the moment?

Have a lovely weekend
💗Fi

  1. That all looks delicious, Fi. You must be very happy coming in under your budget again this week. Are you doing anything differently? I've only done half my shopping this week, off to the farmers' market tomorrow where I'll get some lovely fresh fruit and veg. Meg:)

    1. Hi Meg,
I am taking it a bit lighter on meat, I think that is making the difference. Love markets, which local markets do you go to? Fi

  2. Beautiful food as always. Hmmm, sometimes March can be hotter than summer, let's hope your prediction for a cooler start this Autumn is correct.

    1. Hi Mr HM,
I can’t wait for a cooler change to come through, I must be getting older and softer, I just can’t handle the heat anymore😩how is the heat where you are ?
