A Few Videos of Bordeaux and Surrounds

Hello Dear Reader,

For todays post, I thought I would share some of the little videos I took while on holidays in Bordeaux. I know there looks like a lot, but each one is less than a minute, grab a cuppa, find a comfy chair and enjoy the sights and sounds of Bordeaux. We certainly did.

As I have mentioned before, the main reason we chose this cruise was because the all around beautiful and gorgeous, Julie Goodwin would be hosting this cruise. She and her lovely husband, Mick, were welcoming, gracious and just all together wonderful. So down to earth and natural, I love her even more now. She and Mick were totally approachable and were present for the whole cruise, they joined in on every occasion and were so easy to talk to and be with. I was so nervous the first time I met her and probably talked a whole heap of nonsense (hello jet lag) but I will remember it, fondly, always. I hope she doesn't think I am too crazy!

The Crystal Lounge on board the Scenic Diamond

The Breakfast Buffet, I tried to be there first thing in the morning to see how beautifully everything was presented, Scenic cruise staff are meticulous in their presentation.

The old city of St Emillion, we had the gorgeous French tour guide, Julia, to show us around this wonderfully historic city, it just happens to be her home town.

Down Town Bergerac, listen to those bells

Hilarious! Arriving at Chateau Gruand Larose by bike for our first winery tour

Julie Goodwin, doing what she does best, the first dish she made was Pan Seared Scallop over Celeriac Mash with Bacon Crumb

The second dish Julie made was Duck Confit with Orange Sauce, holy duck, it was amazing. She gave out the recipes for both of the dishes, I would love to have a go at cooking both.

The most amazing fish market I have every seen

  1. Hi Fiona,
thank you for sharing your videos. It all looks beautiful -the ship, food, buildings and countryside. So glad to hear that you have enjoyed your holiday and how wonderful to have done it with your sister. It has been a pleasure to read about your daily activities and see your photos. I'm so happy to hear that Julie Goodwin is as lovely as she appeared to be all those years ago on the first Masterchef.
